Authentic hand-signed Ed Koch portrait by legendary photographer Neil Leifer. Includes original provenance note from the NYC Office of the Mayor, dated August 14.

Captured during a celebrated August 1980 photo session, this piece of New York history shows Mayor Ed Koch at sunset before the original World Trade Center Twin Towers and the Brooklyn Bridge. Neil Leifer, famous for his iconic TIME and Sports Illustrated covers, shot this session to capture the quintessential spirit of 1980s NYC.

Included is the original, hand-written “Office of the Mayor” notecard from James Brenner, Koch’s Legislative Representative. Dated 8/14, the note follows a meeting with “Bob” and confirms the photo was a personal gift from City Hall, providing an ironclad chain of custody that increases the item’s value for serious collectors.
