Old bronze, but could be brass boat porthole. Non-magnetic. Supposedly Bronze and came off a old tug boat. Needs restoration or display as is.
This is a great find and hinge is in working condition, closes and sits flush, flange has its slight bends. The wing nut/ dog works fine as hinge. Come with screen intact, Has its glass crazing and browning from age, glass is smooth on both sides to the touch so not cracking. If your planning on replacing the glass window then shouldn’t be an issue. Still displays great with original Patina showing nice age.
Measures 8″ flange and porthole window has 6″ outside diameter. Good weight at around 5 1/2 pound. Check pictures for sizes.
Has scuffs, scratches, nicks, dings, tarnishing, verdigris, greening, oxidation, crazing stained glass, nice Patina and still looks great! Restore to its former glory or display as is.
Guessing made early late 1800s early 1900s. Cool Old Tugboat Porthole!!!
