Up for sale is an exceptional, original 1920s–1930s Art Deco period desktop trinket tray, pin dish, or vide-poche.
The figurine is finely detailed, solid cast metal, looks bronze and nonmagnetic but could be brass or another. Cool hunting pointer or hound dog statue. It retains its gorgeous, untouched aged bronze patina with natural verdigris highlights along the chest hind quarters, ribs.
The base is beautifully figured, naturally translucent green onyx stone base with clean, crisp beveled edges and a carved center dish cavity.
Good antique condition. The onyx base is structurally sound with no major chips, cracks, or repairs. The bronzed dog is firmly mounted with no wobbling.
A high-grade collector specimen perfect for an executive desk, hunting lodge decor, or a fine tobacciana collection.
Measures 4 1/2″ w x 4 1/8″ d and 2 3/8″ tall to top of dog, Stone is 7/8″ thick. Weight is 1 pound 3 oz.
Dog is tightly mounted and hopefully will stay that way in shipping. Has original old worn felt bottom showing exactly where the bolts or screws are.
