Antique Sleigh Bell Number 6 Petals. This antique Crotal bell is heavy at little under 1/2 pound. What’s nice is dont see any cracks or breaks. Few grind marks, tarnishing, scrapes scuffs scratches all the normal stuff like ruff casting and still looks and sounds great!
Measures 2 1/2″ across, 2 3/4″ tall to top of hanger. Seen this size said to be number 12. Solid metal non magnetic with clapper inside that is magnetic for possible iron. Has rolling deep, resonant, and “clangy” tone. Good looking working antique bell.

Antique 2 1/2-inch 6-petal sleigh bells are significantly larger and more substantial than the common No. 2 body bells. In traditional antique sizing, a 2 1/2-inch diameter corresponds to a Size #12 bell. These were often used on the “rump strap” of a horse harness to provide a louder, deeper resonance. A 2 1/2″ (size #12) bell is quite heavy, often weighing close to half a pound (approx. 7–8 oz) due to its thick cast-brass construction.
